LEVERING HILL PRODUCE
GALLERY
Afternoon shift at Hammond Eggs.
Our farm stand.
Beds of carrots and greens.
The largest tomato we ever raised weighed 2 lb. 12 oz.
In 2013, I plowed up our yard to make room for more garden.
Who doesn't look forward to sweet corn?
I think the large ones in this photo were the Atlantic Giants.
This is my grandmother Alice Olsen's recipe. When my wife and I were married, grandma wrote all here recipes in longhand on 3x5 cards as our gift.
This year's crop is looking terrific.
This is an old photo of the original Levering schoolhouse. It was located on the site of the Levering Community Building.
This is the Kennebec variety I've raised successfully for the last few years.
Each of these three 36" beds has 3 rows (33' rows) of potatoes. So I reckon it's the equivalent of 300' of potatoes. I have two varieties, Kennebec and Purple Viking.
Early Golden Hybrid variety.
A dozen of our "artisan grade" eggs.
Taken from our roof.
"And the Lord God took the man, and placed him into the garden..."
I find great satisfaction in the growing of my own food. After a lifetime of detours and a few dead ends, I think I've found the place God gave me to be.
